Software licence

The text of the ToutWAF software licence is not yet published. It will be published on this page after a lawyer has validated it. What follows is a non-binding summary of how the product works today.

Free edition

The software is free to use, including for professional use, under two offers. Free, with no sign-up and no licence key: 3 sites, 1 node, 2 users, 1 organisation and 5 million allowed requests a month. Free +, after creating a free account and checking the e-mail address: 5 sites and 15 million requests a month, the other limits staying the same; Free + replaces the limits of Free, they are not added up. Professional use (a business, a client's sites, a site that earns income) is allowed on both free offers, within their limits and with community support only; the paid offers (Pro, Agency or Enterprise) raise the limits and add the advanced features. A licensed feature stays visible in the console but locked: it is neither hidden nor broken.

Licence key

The licence key is a signed file, verified on your machine: nothing is sent to the publisher to verify it. When a paid licence expires: 48 hours of grace (everything works, with warnings), then 48 hours of read-only (traffic and protection continue, nothing can be created or changed), then WAF protection is switched off: traffic keeps flowing, unprotected, and only renewal remains possible in the panel. Renewing restores everything at once. Free and Free + are not concerned: they fall back to their limits.
